Cranberry Orange Relish

Christmas time is upon us, which for many of us means lots of baking and eating. Here’s a very simple holiday recipe that goes light on the sugar but not on the flavor.

This is a very festive, fresh, and healthy side dish for any holiday meal. The salt really enhances the sweetness so you don’t need a lot of coconut sugar, but if it’s too tart for your taste buds, then feel free to add some more of the sweet stuff.

This would be great on a cheese board with goat cheese or manchengo. It also pairs well with some dark meat chicken or turkey. You could also use it as a sauce over some roasted pork loin. Later this week, I’m going to test it out as a filling for a tart. Yum!

Cranberry Orange Relish

1 12 oz. bag organic raw cranberries
1 orange, cut into eighths, peel included
2 tart apples, cut into eighths
1/2 c. coconut sugar
1 Tbsp. ground ginger
sprinkle of sea salt

  1. In a food processor, pulse all ingredients until ground finely but not mushy.
  2. Serve!
