Chocolate Maca Protein Shake

37 weeks pregnant

It seems as though summer has officially begun. Our typical southern California june gloom has subsided and it’s sunshiney all day! I love summer so no complaints over here. Correction… no complaints about the weather.

My complaints have more to do with feeling all the feels of the final weeks of pregnancy. My reality is that I will be birthing a baby in the next couple of weeks. Which means my body is doing all kinds of unpleasant things. Oh well, at least the weather is nice!

In these final waiting days I’ve been enjoying chilly snacks like melon, smoothies, and iced coffee. This smoothie in particular is fab-u-lous because it has a smooth chocolatey feel with tons of health supportive ingredients! Collagen Peptides are a great protein source and help strengthen my joints, the dates (are supposed to) help with labor, and maca helps with hormonal balance! It’s a great recipe for anyone but I like to think it’s especially helping me and my little dude during our final days sharing a body. (weird)
