Terms of Service for The Living Work

Last updated: November 17, 2025

Welcome to The Living Work (“we,” “us,” “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, coaching services, programs, and any related offerings. By accessing or using our services, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our services.

1. Nature of Services

a. Coaching

Health and wellness coaching is a collaborative, client-directed process focused on supporting behavioral change, self‑awareness, and personal development. Coaching is not therapy, medical treatment, or mental health care, and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent medical conditions.

b. Consulting

Consulting services involve providing professional guidance, strategic recommendations, education, and structured expertise in areas such as wellness, leadership, lifestyle design, behavior change, and organizational wellbeing. Consulting does not replace medical, legal, psychological, or financial advice.

c. Chef Services

Chef services may include menu planning, meal preparation, educational cooking demonstrations, culinary classes, or related services. These are supportive and educational in nature and do not constitute clinical nutrition therapy, medical nutrition counseling, or dietary treatment for medical conditions.

Clients are responsible for their own decisions, actions, and outcomes.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to use our services. By engaging with us, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Communicate honestly and in a timely manner
  • Attend scheduled sessions on time or provide adequate notice for rescheduling
  • Understand that progress depends on their own effort and participation

4. Payment and Billing

Payment for coaching services, programs, or digital products is required at the time of purchase unless otherwise specified.

We reserve the right to change pricing or discontinue services at any time. Changes do not affect previously purchased services.

No refunds are offered unless explicitly stated in writing for a specific program or client agre.

5. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Clients must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Missed sessions or late cancellations may be charged in full unless individual client agreements state otherwise.

6. Confidentiality

We are committed to maintaining client confidentiality. Information shared in coaching is kept private except in the following circumstances:

  • The client provides written consent to share information,
  • We are legally required to disclose information,
  • There is an imminent risk of harm to the client or another person.

Coach Documentation Requirements

  • Confidential information will be stored securely and not shared without consent.

7. Financial & Referral Transparency

We uphold full transparency regarding any financial relationships or external compensation.

Referral Compensation

If we receive compensation from a third party for referring you, or if we receive referred clients through compensated channels, this will be fully disclosed before coaching services begin.

Product Sales & Non-Coaching Services

If The Living Work offers products, courses, or non-coaching services for purchase, and if the coach receives any income or financial benefit from such sales, this will be disclosed prior to purchase or engagement.

Conflicts of Interest

We will disclose any potential financial, personal, professional, or other conflicts of interest that could influence the coaching relationship. We are committed to maintaining objectivity and professionalism at all times.

8. Communication Practices

Clients may communicate via email, messaging, or other platforms we designate. While we strive to maintain privacy, electronic communication carries inherent risks.

We will not provide emergency services. If you are in crisis, call local emergency services or crisis hotlines immediately.

9. Intellectual Property

All content provided by The Living Work—including but not limited to worksheets, digital products, videos, written materials, course content, logos, and branding—is the intellectual property of The Living Work and may not be reproduced, shared, or distributed without written permission.

10. Disclaimers

  • Coaching does not substitute for medical, psychological, or legal advice.
  • You should consult qualified professionals for concerns outside the scope of coaching.
  • We do not guarantee specific outcomes.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Living Work is not liable for any damages arising from the use of our services, including indirect or consequential damages.

Clients agree to hold The Living Work harmless for decisions and actions taken as a result of coaching.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate a coaching relationship if:

  • Boundaries are violated
  • Payments are not made
  • The client is no longer a good fit for coaching

Clients may terminate coaching at any time, understanding that fees already paid may not be refundable.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.

14. Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
